強がって「自分でできるよ」と言うときもあれば、相手に遠慮して「自分でできます」と言うときにも役立つフレーズ。

「自分でできます」と断るには？

⇒　I can do it myself.

※言い方によっては子供がすねてるようにも聞こえるので注意。小さい子供がよく言っている。

※丁寧に断りたいときは、気配りの表現を直前につけるといい。

　No, thank you. I can do it myself.  / Thank you very much, but I can do it myself.

※I can do it.　だけでも通じる。どちらでも大丈夫。

＜ストーリー＞耳コピなのでかなり不正確です(???は聞き取れなかった部分)。緑部分は正確です。

Dion: Hey, Sho. Are you making dinner?

Sho: Yeah! I'm making carbonara.

Dion: Really? I love carbonara. Wait, this is no good.

Sho: What do you mean?

Dion: You over cooked the eggs. The sauce is supposed to be creamy.

Sho: I follow the recipi exactly.

Dion: Are you sure? This is a total mess!（こりゃ相当ひどいぞ！）

Sho: Just leave me alone, Dion.

Dion: Well I guess I have no choice. I'll have to teach you how to make the perfect caibonara.

Sho: No thanks. I can do it myself.

Dion: Oh really? Too bad. I have eight years of experience working at an Italian restaurant, you know.

Sho: Seriously?
