どうして？と理由や原因を尋ねる、「Why?」以外の表現。

理由や原因を尋ねるには？

⇒　How come?

※相手の発言に驚いて「どうして？」「どうしてそうなっちゃうの？」と咄嗟に理由や原因を尋ねる表現。

※ Why ・・・ちょっとキツイ表現にとらえられることも。

　How come・・・大丈夫？という相手に対する気遣いも感じられる表現。

※How come you are so tired? 　どうしてあなたはそんなに疲れてるの？

Dion: Good morning, Sho.

Sho: Good morning Dion. You're up early.

Dion: Yeah.

Sho :And Zach... Oh that's right. Zach left already, didn't he?

Dion: I think so. He said he was going on a three-days trip.

Sho: He told me that he had leave before sunrise.

Dion: I hope he has fun.

Zach: Hey guys. Good morning.

Sho: Zach? What happened to your trip?

Zach: My trip? Oh, I decided not to go.

Sho: How come? You were so excited about it...

Zach: I heard that the hotel is haunted!　（宿にお化けが出るらしいんだよ）

         I'm scare about the gohsts.
