「やってごらん！」と背中を押すには？

⇒　Give it a try!

※ try = [名詞] 試み

※直訳すると「そのことに試みを与えなさい」＝「やってごらんなさい」

※ Try it! との違い

　ハリー杉山さん：Try it! の方が軽い感じ。試食とかをすすめるときに使う。

　*試食するときに " Give it a try. "は使わない。

　アダムスありささん：どちらも同じ感じ。

※「自分がやってみる」という場合は

　　I'll give it a try!

※似た表現 " Give it a shot! " 「とりあえずなんかやってみなよ」

　かなりカジュアルなので使うときは気を付けよう。

　ドラマや映画でよく出てくる表現。

＜ストーリー＞耳コピなのでかなり不正確です(???は聞き取れなかった部分)。緑部分は正確です。

Asami: So, what did you want to talk to me about?

Jessica: Well, I got a new job offer.

Asami: That's great! What are you going to design?

Jessica: Actually this time it's a shop window display in Ginza.

Asami: A shop display in Ginza? That's wonderful!

Jessica: But it's my first time. I'm not sure if I can do it.（初めてなの 私にできるかしら）

Asami: Of course you can.

Jessica: I don't know.

Asami: You have an amazing sense of design, Jessica.

Jessica: You think so?

Asami: I'm sure you can design a window display. Give it a try!

Jessica: Yeah. I'll do my best. Thanks.
