「勘弁してください」と伝えるには？

⇒　Give me a break.

※相手から苦情をうんざりするほど聞かされたときに「もうそんなに責めないでよ」「勘弁してよ」というときの決まり文句。

※相手から理不尽なことを言われたときや過度な要求をされたときに「冗談でしょ？！」というときにも使う。

　例：<友達から夜中の３時に宿題手伝ってと連絡がきたときに>

　　　→ Give me a break.（冗談でしょ？勘弁してよ）

＜ストーリー＞耳コピなのでかなり不正確です(???は聞き取れなかった部分)。緑部分は正確です。

Zach: I'm home!

Dion: Hey, Zach!

Zach: It's ??? guys. Sho? What are you eating?

Sho: Ha? This senbei was on the counter.

Zach: That's mine! I can't believe you ate it.

Sho: Sorry.

Zach: You can't just eat something without asking! That's against house rules!

Sho: Zach. Give me a break. You just left it here on the counter for a week.

Zach: I didn't just leave it there! I was displaying it!（置きっぱなしにしてたわけじゃない！飾っておいたんだ！）

Dion: What is so special about that senbei?

Zach: Well, I bought it on the date with Victoria.

Dion: Oh...

Sho: There are still about half left.
