「残念ですね！」と伝えるには？

⇒　What a shame!

※ shame = 恥ずかしさ / 残念なこと

※相手からとても残念なお知らせを聞いたときに「お気の毒に」「なんて残念だろう」と強く同情するときの決まり文句。

※目上の人に対しても使ってOK。

※ shame を他のことばにかえた表現。

　例：What a surprise!（なんてびっくり！）<プレゼントをもらったときに>

　例：What a disappointment!（がっかりだよ！）<自分の行きたかったライブが中止になったとき>

＜ストーリー＞耳コピなのでかなり不正確です(???は聞き取れなかった部分)。緑部分は正確です。

Sho: I'm home. What happnen, Zach?

Zach: This broke.

Sho: Why are you crying? Was it the special?

Zach: No. It's not that. I met Victoria earlier today.

Zach: Summer is almost over. It felt so long, and yet so short.

Victoria: You know, ??? too.

Zach: ???

Victoria: Yeah my boyfriend. He said the exact same thing the other day.（彼も先日全く同じことを言ってたわ）

Sho: Oh, so Victoria has a boyfriend.

Zach: Yeah.

Sho: What a shame!
