英語独特の表現。歓迎のことばとしても使えるし、一生懸命努力してやっと成し遂げたという感じ。

「よく来たね！」「やったね！」と言うには？

⇒　You made it!

※天候や交通の便が悪いときにわざわざ来てくれた相手に対して歓迎の意味を込めて使う。

※待ち合わせが分かりにくいときに相手が来てくれたときにも使う。

　自分がたどり着いたときは　I made it! と使う。

※シチュエーション例：山登りに成功したとき、電車にぎりぎりに間に合った、努力が報われて成功したなど。

Annika: An old friend is coming to this??? you today in this terrible weather?

Makoto: That's right. I met him when I lived in Kobe. We've been friends for twenty years.

Annika: Twenty years!

Makoto: Yes. His name is Rajeev. He just moved to Tokyo.

Annika: Well, it's too bad about the weather today.

Makoto: Yes. It's really coming down. （ひどく雨が降ってますね）

　　　　I heard that some train have stopped.

Annika: It will be difficult to catch a taxi too. Where is he now?

Makoto: I'm not sure. I can't reach him.

Rajeev: Hey, Makoto! Long time no see!

Makoto: Oh Rajeev! You made it!

Rajeev: I had a hard time getting here in this rain.

Makoto: I bet. Let me get you a towel.

Annika: I got one.
