(あなたにこんなことは言いにくいのですが、特別食を積んでいる補給船が遅れています。)
・「こんなことは言いたくないんだけど」とまず相手に心の準備をさせる。
・例えば「会社が赤字になった」 " It's hard to tell you this, but the company is going through financial difficulties. " などとても悪いニュースのときに使う表現。
いきなり悪いニュースを言うのではなく、この前置きをしっかりクッションとして使う。
・「特別食を乗せたsupply ship」は with で簡単に表現できる。
・has been delayed 現在完了形の典型的なj表現。現在に焦点があって「遅れて"いる"」
